Eng. Avri Shefler

Bipol Energy's Chief Executive Officer, Avri Shefler, holds a B.Sc in Civil Engineering from the Technion as well as an M.Sc in Civil Engineering from the University of California. He has 35 years of experience in offshore and onshore management, design, engineering, construction and testing of oil/gas pipeline systems, gas facilities and marine structures. He also served five years as a marine officer in the Navy. As a pioneer in oil and gas engineering, Avri played a key role in the early 1970s development and construction of semi-submersible pipe-laying vessels, pipe-laying reel ships and jet-sleds. A decade later, Avri also contributed to the engineering and construction of the first Tension Leg Platform (TLP) for the North Sea Hutton Field. Most of his career has been devoted to international offshore development, specifically in the Gulf of Mexico, North Sea, China, Middle East and Far East with companies such as Santa Fé International, Bechtel, Arco, British Gas and E-on Engineering. Avri's international projects have included the following:
